AMIS is a software program designed to read DAISY books. It is self-voicing, meaning that no specialized screen-reading software is needed in order for it to be used by visually impaired people. Since AMIS does not have an embedded synthesizer, the supported languages are defined by the user SAPI 5 already installed synthesizer. Types of DAISY books supported by AMIS are: DAISY 2.02, DAISY/NISO 2005, Multivolume (DAISY 2.02), Full text + full audio, Audio + NCX and Text-only.

Οδηγίες εγκατάστασης: First download and extract the Setup-amis30-rc1-U.S.English.zip archive and then run the Setup-amis30-rc1-U.S.English.exe file.
Ρυθμίσεις: Users can open DAISY files from the corresponding command in the File menu and then start the audio rendering of the content by pressing Play/Pause. Speech Synthesizer settings can be found at the Preferences menu.

The program was upgraded from version 3.0 to version 3.1.3. There is also a beta version (3.1.4) of the program available on the "Download external" site.
