NonVisual Desktop Access (NVDA) is a free and open-source screen reader for the Windows Operating System, enabling blind and vision impaired people to use their computers. Providing feedback by a SAPI4 or SAPI5 compatible synthetic speech, NVDA allows users to access and interact with all parts of the Windows operating system. The main applications supported by NVDA are: Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Outlook Express, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Calculator. NVDA is available with a built-in speech synthesizer, eSpeak, supporting many languages including Greek. There is also available a portable version of the NVDA screen reader (see NVDA portable).

Οδηγίες εγκατάστασης: Download and install the file nvda_2014.3.1.exe.
Ρυθμίσεις: All settings are available from the Preferences application menu (that appears by right-clicking the program icon in the Notification Area). Users can: (a) choose a Synthesizer, (b) set up synthesizer’s voice parameters such as language, speech rate, pitch and volume by choosing Voice Settings and (c) set up mouse operation mode by clicking on Mouse Settings.
